How To Set Up Your Wii Game Controller

Video games are much more fun with a Wii, since the console uses motion-sensing technology to make your favorite games interactive.

But in order to get started, you’ll need to have your Wii game controller installed properly.

The controller will allow you to experience the sports games that you play, and can give you a real workout each day as well.

Here are some tips on installing the controller correctly.

Be sure to leave the cover off of the panel after you’ve inserted the batteries. Turn on the Wii console from the front. Allow the Wii to cycle to the main menu.

Installing The Wii Game Controller

The next step in installing the Wii game controller is opening the front door on the console.

This reveals the SD card input, as well as the ‘sync’ button. Press the ‘sync’ button on the Wii remote–the button is right underneath the batteries.

When your remote is in sync mode, the LED light will flash.

Now you’ll need to press the ‘sync’ button on your Wii console so that the signals will connect. This will allow your console and controller to start working together. This process may take a few seconds, so don’t worry if the synchronization doesn’t happen right away. Watch to see if the LED light has stopped blinking on your Wii game controller.

Once the blinking has stopped, this means your remote is connected to the console. Now place the battery cover back on.

This one-time synchronization will change the way that your Wiimote is synched to your console. All you’ll need to do is press the ‘Home’ button on the Wii game controller and choose ‘reconnect.’ This will definitely come in handy when you want to change the player/controller layout without having to use several Wii remotes.

Now Your Wii  Game Controller Is Good To Go…

Once your Wii game controller is properly installed, you can start playing video games much more often. In order to master your favorite games, it’s important to use smaller, focused motions rather than big, elaborate ones.

The Wii player can complete your motions without your having to exert too much energy, so just move the way you normally would when you’re playing sports or driving. And, make sure that you keep an additional supply of AA batteries handy, since your Wii game controller can run out of power pretty quickly if you play often.
